Sections

The cross-section at any station — the corridor's shape cut across the road, with the ground beneath it.

The Sections tab

Select a corridor and open the Sections tab. It shows the cross-section at the current station: offset across the horizontal axis, elevation up the vertical axis, drawn from the corridor's assembly with the existing ground overlaid (sampled from the target surface).

What you see

ElementMeaning
Section linesThe assembly's links at this station — banked by superelevation, widened on curves.
Existing groundThe target surface sampled across the section.
Cut / fillShading between the design section and the ground.
DaylightThe cut/fill slopes where the section reaches out to meet the ground.
GridOffset / elevation reference grid.

To turn a station's geometry into a TIN and compute earthwork over the whole corridor, use the corridor surface tools — see Surfaces & volumes.
